> More information > Dates & Prices With a reputation for pedagogical excellence since 1982, the language courses at International House Madrid have been designed to meet all modern learning needs. The study options range from 3 hours per week for our "classic" course to an average of 2 1/5 hours daily on the intensive course.
Access to all courses depends on the result of a free individual level assessment. Taken with no obligation, this allows our teaching experts to precisely identify your oral and written level and enables accurate student placement to guarantee effective progress in your studies. Using a range of communication games and other activities carefully selected by our Directors of Studies, the teacher will guide the class (average 8 students) to achieve the objectives corresponding to each level. A communicative methodology is employed at all times with the class conducted in a dynamic, friendly and pleasant atmosphere where the focus from day one is on communication. Course syllabus and contents are clearly detailed in the IH Madrid Curriculum and Syllabus Document. All courses include access to supplementary educational material, complemented by a wide range of pedagogical services and support which can be combined freely with many, varied additional study aids & courses. In all cases the evaluation of the progress of each student is continuous, enabled by programmed tests and individual tutorials. Preparation for the official examinations of the University of Cambridge is based on attaining the required language level and developing exam technique. Before registering for the examinations, students do a mock exam and receive detailed guidance & counselling from their teachers. Preparation also includes taking a complete practice interview: several of our staff are accredited Cambridge oral examiners. Students can complete the registration process directly at IH on payment of a small fee.
